MIGRATIONS AND ETHNICS ON PRIVATE

Day 1.- ARUSHA

Arrival in Arusha where your RATPANAT driver-guide will receive you and transfer you to the hotel in Arusha, so you can rest from the flight to start your trip the next day without accumulated tiredness. 

Day 2.- ARUSHA - TARANGIRE N.P.

We head to the Tarangire National Park, in our opinion an essential park and a must to visit known as the garden of the baobabs, those enormous and ancient silent witnesses of the passage of time and history that offer us the African landscape par excellence. This impressive setting together with the ecosystem marked by the Tarangire River makes up this great variety of genuinely African landscape and an atmosphere and flavor that other places lack. The Tarangire is home to the largest concentration of animals outside of the Serengeti ecosystem during the dry season. If something stands out in Tarangire National Park are the large herds of elephants, so seeing a large group of these large mammals cool off in the river will be a daily scene on your safaris. The soft wooded plains lead to more abundant vegetation on the banks of the Tarangire, the combination of palm trees and baobabs being very characteristic to watch the wild fauna. In addition, being lowlands and therefore hotter, it is possible to see lions resting in the branches of the trees, something that is not frequent in most of Africa, as well as giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, impalas, zebras and other not so common species such as the lesser kudu, the oryx or even the sable antelope. 

Day 3.- TARANGIRE N.P. - LAKE MANYARA N.P.

After enjoying this majestic park, we continue through Maasai Lands dotted with nomadic pastoralist tribes. The Maasai have inhabited these lands since ancient times and continue to hold onto their traditions in the 21st century. We direct our steps towards one of the most unique jewels of Tanzania: Lake Manyara National Park. A small park of only 330 square kilometers of which 200 occupies the lake when it has its flow at the highest levels. Lake Manyara stretches for 50 kilometers, undergoing dramatic transformations throughout the year. Its appearance changes completely from the rainy season to the dry season. Its biodiversity tells us about large mammals (giraffes, leopards, lions, hippos) and more than 400 species of birds including a huge population of flamingos in the lake. During the dry season, from June to December, the lake level drops significantly and large mammals must move closer to the water. Then it is more frequent to see the owners of the place: elephants, lions and leopards prowling the buffaloes and giraffes that come to drink at the lake. A good time to go hunting.

Day 4.- LAKE MANYARA N.P. - SERENGETI N.P.

We say goodbye to Lake Manyara after a sunrise safari and continue our way to the mythical Serengeti NP in Tanzania. natural extension of the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. There are no fences of both countries in the reserves, so they are ignored by the animals. In their search for fresh pastures, each year between July and October, about a million and a half wildebeest, 250,000 zebras and half a million gazelles cross, followed shortly by lions and hyenas pleased by such a concentration of meat. They are the famous Migrations that deliver one of the most breathtaking spectacles of nature. Our tented staff will heat the water for you so that it is ready in your tent, with a private bathroom and shower, upon your return from the safari and you can relax before a wonderful dinner under the light of the stars, all in the purest Memories of Africa. 

Day 5.- SERENGETI N.P.

Second day in our Special Tented Camp in the middle of Seronera (PN Serengeti). The best safaris, or at least the highest probability of witnessing hunting scenes, take place at dawn, when the savannah is stretched and nocturnal animals are still active, and at dusk. We will dedicate these moments to meet the five grades or better known as the "big five": lions, buffalo, elephants, rhinos and leopards. In addition to these indisputable protagonists, large herds of herbivores appear throughout the year, always alert to the entry into action of a cheetah or a herd of lionesses. We will sleep in the middle of one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries on the planet, we will sleep in the “endless plain”. Its landscapes respond to the mythical image of Africa: large spaces, deep blue skies dotted with clouds, fresh sunrises and fiery sunsets, and at night, a unique array of stars. Optionally we can take a balloon safari at sunrise over the Serengeti. 

Day 6.- SERENGETI N.P. - NGORONGORO C.A.

We will dedicate the last morning in Serengeti to tracking the wild fauna that we will surely have heard closely the night before, carefully visiting another singularity: the kopjes, islands of rocks in a sea of ​​grass where lions or leopards love to rest. Shortly before leaving the endless plain behind, we will begin to meet again Maasai shepherds with their flocks and colorful "shuka" or Maasai blankets, grazing near the Olduvai Gorge, one of the cradles of Humanity, where many have been found. fossils and artifacts of the first hominids. We are already in the NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA. We will visit a Boma Maasai or Maasai village to experience first-hand their ancient traditions and way of life in the Ngorongoro area, our next destination for tonight. Our camp will also provide you with spectacular views over the Crater (we are the only Tented Camp that enjoys these views) an authentic Masai experience. Being able to live together and enjoy a talk and a glass of wine around the fire together with our Masai who guard the camp will surely become a memory forever. 

Day 7.- NGORONGORO C.A. - LAKE EYASI

With the first rays of sun we go down in 4x4 vehicles to the interior of the Ngorongoro Caldera for our safari. No reserve offers such a grandiose sight as the Ngorongoro Crater, a volcanic caldera 600 meters deep and more than 20 kilometers in diameter that contains the largest “permanent” concentration of wildlife in Africa. The Ngorongoro crater, a giant volcano that in its time was perhaps higher than Kilimanjaro itself, is home to thousands of wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, gazelles, lions, rhinos ... that, unlike in the Serengeti, practically do not migrate, due to to the continuous presence of water in the area that ensures their permanent sustenance. The crater gives its name to the conservation area in which it is located: spectacular landscape, inhabited by more than 40,000 Maasai herdsmen, dominated by the Rift Valley and the nine Ngorongoro volcanoes that emerged more than 4 million years ago. The only one that is currently active is the Ol Doinyo Lengai, the mountain of god for the Maasai. After our unique and exclusive experience inside the caldera of the so-called “Eden volcano”, we will direct our steps to the endearing Lake Eyasi. Outside of any tourist route, we look for those cultures that have largely remained unperturbed over time. If there is a place where it seems that time has stopped and that globalization has not yet arrived, without a doubt that is the land of the DATOGA and HADZABE tribes, the latter also known as Bushmen. A remote place where they still live from the little game they have left and the gathering of wild fruits and roots. 

Day 8.- LAKE EYASI - ARUSHA AIRPORT.

Very early in the morning, walking among acacias and majestic baobabs, we will be surprised by these tribes dressed in small tanned skins and necklaces made of fruits and seeds, out of nowhere, observing us with sincere curiosity. They are the Bushmen who receive us with their click language, clicking their tongues. Going hunting with the HADZABE is quite an experience: with a wooden bow and arrows in hand, you will travel with them the savannah that surrounds Lake Eyasi to know first-hand what survival is, the lifestyle of these tribes. Transfer to the airport on the same day for flights departing in the afternoon (the flight must be after 7:00 p.m.).
